Abstract:
the purpose of this chapter is to describe HRM issues and methods in the global wine industry. It will begin with a definition of HRM and then give a framework outlining major functions that fall into the domain of HRM, and how they can be implemented and managed in various wine business contexts, including some best and worst practices. This is followed by a section on legal constraints and how they impact HRM differently by country, and then a mini-case study on HRM issues in a wine business. The chapter concludes with several questions that may be used for discussion or study purposes.
